Tasting Notes
This is showing beautifully today, combining maturity, energy and precision in a very complete expression. The nose is distinctly mineral and stony, with notes of slate, mature lemon and lemon peel, followed by crisp yellow apples. Subtle hints of brioche, toasted nuts and gentle spice emerge with air, adding depth without overt richness. On the palate, the wine is rich yet focused, with a fine, silky mousse and a vibrant acidity that carries the fruit effortlessly. The texture is generous but never heavy, driven by freshness and a clear mineral backbone. The finish is long, clean and resonant, with a lingering saline touch that adds elegance and persistence. Fully expressive and drinking extremely well now, while still showing the structure and balance to evolve further. A confident and highly complete vintage of Krug.
