Knewitz in Rheinhessen has become best known for its chardonnay. In truth, though, riesling is the grape they grow most.

Tobias Knewitz trained under Philipp Wittmann and Philip Kuhn, and took over from his father in 2009, at the age of 20. He now runs the estate with his father, his wife Corina and his brother Björn.

Based in the north of Rheinhessen, they farm 25 hectares, mostly on limestone, across the four villages of Appenheim, Gau-Algesheim, Ingelheim and Nieder-Hilbersheim. This was seabed 65 million years ago, and the soil is still full of fossils.

Knewitz has now released a brilliant riesling that offers enormous value. It comes in both magnum and double magnum at a remarkably fair price, and every format has real ageing potential. One to put away for a big occasion down the line.

Now Knewitz has released a brilliant riesling that offers enormous value for money. Especially since it comes in both magnum and double magnum at an almost unusually attractive price. All sizes also show tremendous ageing potential. Perfect for cellaring for a big occasion to come.
